[General] VoIP For Home Usage

Majed,

Since you reached this stage and i assume you need a production VoIP
server, why dont you install Asterisk + FreePBX and save yourself all
the mischief? i did this on a CentOS (To match AsteriskNOW and Trixbox
OS) which is my dedicated server in Amsterdam, it routes some DID US
numbers to me in Kuwait and i use it as a junction between me and my
Trixbox in kuwait when i travel.

Well Trixbox is a hybrid opensource project, it is still a child of a commercial father! having said that, you ought to expect funny things (even future wise) from Fonality. Once you accept their ToS you are automagically under their patching mercy :). As for personal info i dont think its stated in ToS if i recall correctly, nor they are allowed legally to fiddle with user personal info.

Does their ToS say that they're allowed to run scripts without prior
consent of the users, too? That's a trojan!!! And no matter what you
put in your ToS, trojan-behavior is illegal.

I was testing PBX in a Flash yesterday and hit a bump in that the
drivers are loaded but channels don't show up, hence calls can't be
made over the landline (PSTN). I installed trixbox 2.8 today to see if
it can make the calls, but it couldn't, however, on the plus side, the
channels do show in trixbox.

I took a backup of PBXiaFlash yesterday and I'm comparing the config
files against trixbox's to see where I went wrong yesterday.

I'm not sticking with trixbox. I'm just using it to get my system up.
Like using a pirated version of Windows to extract a driver for your
Linux box ;p
