[General] IBM backs Oracle against Apache and Google's Android

Al-Abdulhadi, I don't see why IBM is being evil. If you have tried any
IBM software, on Windows or Linux, you'll notice that IBM uses Java
heavily and since Harmony hasn't been certified as a full replacement
to Java, IBM needs to keep its software stack sane and running, and
that can only happen if it intervenes with OpenJDK.

If IBM didn't join the OpenJDK body, what do you think will happen?
Oracle would implement what Oracle sees fit for its own software and
neglect the rest of the world, so IBM wants to make sure that its
software still works, and since IBM is also a major contributor to
Eclipse (programming IDE and the base of IBM's Lotus Notes new
client), it will benefit the community.

I don't know how much Google has used from Harmony for the development
of Android, but Google has been doing quite some work on it, that it
can implement future enhancements and features by itself (and the
other community members). It will be slower now that IBM is out, but I
doubt it'll stop the project.
