Does your VPN server support MPPE? This is what's causing the connection to
drop, since it cannot encrypt it using MPPE. You can either disable mppe on
your device (not sure how to do that, other than unloading the kernel
modules), enable MPPE on your server or disable encryption all together.

What server are you using?
