[General] Python 3.x or 2.x

Hello:

   Both branches of Python (2.6.x and 3.0) are production quality, 
however since most software is only compatible with the 2.x branch, I 
would suggest you start there. Do not buy any book that is talking about 
2.2.x as this is considered obsolete.
