I really hope they all do it, and it's really smart to do so under certain
limit. although it's kinda late now after most people got used to mobile
apps which are much more user friendly.

What I heard from a friend was, even then when Twitter was taking the charge
of the SMS, Zain was continuously failing because it seems, to cut down the
cost, they have disabled SMS delivery confirmation. Thus, when Twitter keeps
sending SMS without delivery confirmation, to cut down the cost, they would
assume phone is not receiving and stop updating it. My friend kept trying to
get it to work but it kept coming back to same problem.

PS: If it's exclusive, I'd be disappointed from Twitter. Power of Twitter is
being open. Once you start locking it, you're eating from it's core value.
