[General] Sharing e-go or any 3G (UMTS/HSPDA) USB modem

If you have a current Nokia 3.5G phone with WiFi there is this great
piece of free software that will turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot so
you can share the connection with one or more WiFi-enabled devices.
In essence what it does is create an ad-hoc network using the WiFi on
the phone; and creates a bridge to the GSM network in order to enable
connection sharing. It also installs a DHCP server on your phone to give
IPs to your clients.
Download the software from http://www.joikuspot.com/
It basically does the same thing as the Zain E-go "router"; without the
hassles of a power adapter and bulk. By the way, that E-go router has a
phone backup option (strange, considering the purpose of the device) and
you cannot change the SSID from the management interface -- stupid move
on the part of Zain.
I'm hoping to get more hands on time with one so that I can find out how
to hack it and get something useful going on it -- like I did with the
Wataniya Ericsson router (which runs linux, OpenSSH, and has a root
account with no password).
Cheers,
Burhan
